Welcome to ICS Gifted Classroom
ICS Gifted Program
The gifted program will be delivered in a model where in the students identified as gifted and talented will be pulled out of their homerooms one day per week. They will also have the opportunity to attend language and specials; enjoy lunch and recess with other homeroom peers.
I am excited to take the responsibilities of a gifted teacher and look forward to working with and learning from the high ability and creative students. My vision, as a gifted educator, is to deliver a program that sets high standards to encourage the students to identify their potential and challenge themselves. As every child is unique in his or her abilities, everyone gets an opportunity to perform and excel in his or her unique talents in my classroom. Students are expected to put all their effort and commitment as they would be challenged in the projects and activities planned for the classroom and home. The projects would be aligned, as much as possible, with the IB unit the students would be working in their homerooms. Most of the gifted classroom projects and activities would be focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and building social, communication, research skills, and so on. As parents play a significant role in the education of a child, they are strongly encouraged to volunteer for various educational and recreational activities/field trips planned for the gifted class.
I look forward to working with you and your child and anticipating a great learning year ahead.
